Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) is the busiest airport in the Canary Islands, located in the east of Gran Canaria. It is the gateway to the island’s popular tourist destinations and offers a range of services and facilities to ensure a comfortable and stress-free travel experience.

The International Airport of Gran Canaria is the Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) is situated in Telde, on the eastern coast of Gran Canaria. You can easily find many direct flights to Gran Canaria from many major cities of Europe and the world.


Flights between all islands except La Gomera is regular and flights from Spain to Gran Canaria is made by the several airways such as Binter and Iberian Airways.

Gran Canaria airport is located about 25 km. from the main holiday resorts of the southern region of the island and 18 km. from the capital city of Las Palmas.

Wi-Fi

The airport offers free Wi-Fi throughout the terminal building, allowing you to stay connected with your loved ones and stay up to date with your travel plans.

Luggage storage

If you need to store your luggage while waiting for your flight, you can use the airport’s luggage storage service, located in the public area of the terminal building.

Shopping and dining

The airport has a range of shops and restaurants, offering a variety of products and cuisine. From souvenirs to duty-free goods, you’ll find everything you need for your journey or for gifts for your loved ones.

VIP lounge

If you want to relax in a more comfortable and private setting, you can use the airport’s VIP lounge, offering a range of amenities including free Wi-Fi, TV, refreshments, and more.

The Tourist Board (Tel: 928 574 117) has a tourist information point at the airport and is located in the EU arrivals hall. Visitors may obtain maps and any tourist information there.

There is also a post office located in the international arrivals hall.


Transportation

Gran Canaria Airport is well-connected to the island’s major destinations and offers a variety of transportation options.

You can get from the airport to the resorts by buses. Route 66 runs the south of the island. Route 60 runs to the capital, Las Palmas, and route 5 links the airport with the Faro de Maspalomas and the capital Las Palmas.

Taxis are available outside the terminal building, offering a convenient and comfortable way to reach your destination. You can expect to pay around 30-40 euros for a taxi ride to the popular tourist destinations. Taxis cost about 24 Euros to the popular holiday resorts.

Car hire is also another option for getting around the island. Many of those car hire agencies have offices at the airport offering cheap car rental services.

Transfers

If you want to avoid the hassle of finding transportation upon arrival, you can arrange for a transfer in advance. There are many private transfer companies offering services to and from the airport, with prices starting from as little as 10 euros per person.
