There are several airports that serve the region, making it easy to get to from various parts of Europe and beyond. Costa Brava has two main airports that include; Girona Airport and Barcelona Airport.

Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO) is the closest airport to Costa Brava, located just 30 minutes away from the region’s main tourist hubs. It is a popular choice for budget airlines, such as Ryanair and EasyJet, with flights from various European cities. Once you arrive at the airport, you can easily reach the region by bus, taxi, or rental car.

Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN) is another major airport that serves the region. It is located approximately 1.5 hours away from Costa Brava, making it a good option if you can’t find a direct flight to Girona.
Many major airlines, including British Airways, Lufthansa, and Air France, operate flights to Barcelona from various parts of the world. You can easily reach the region from Barcelona by bus, train, taxi, or rental car.

In addition; Perpignan-Rivesaltes Airport (PGF) is located just across the border in France, around 1.5 hours away from Costa Brava. It is a good option if you’re coming from the northern part of Europe or if you can’t find a direct flight to Girona or Barcelona.
Ryanair and Air France operate flights to Perpignan from various European cities. From the airport, you can reachthe regionby rental car or taxi.
If you’re coming from further away, you may want to consider flying into Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD) or Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), both of which are major international airports with flights from all over the world. From there, you can either take a connecting flight to Girona or Barcelona, or travel to Costa Brava by train, bus, or rental car.

Traveling to Costa Brava by train is a convenient and scenic option for those who want to avoid driving or flying. The region is well-connected by rail to major cities in Spain and Europe.
If you’re traveling from Barcelona, you can take a direct train to Girona, which is the largest city in Costa Brava. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, and there are several departures throughout the day.
Alternatively, you can take a high-speed train from Barcelona to Figueres, which is closer to the northern part of Costa Brava. From Figueres, you can easily access popular destinations like Cadaques, Roses, and L’Escala.
If you’re traveling from other parts of Spain or Europe, you can take a connecting train to Girona or Figueres. The Spanish rail company, Renfe, offers several routes to Costa Brava from major cities like Madrid and Valencia.
Once you arrive at the train station, there are several options for getting around Costa Brava, including buses, taxis, and rental cars. Many of the region’s top attractions are within easy reach of the train stations, so you can explore the area without a car if you prefer.
by Road
To reach Costa Brava by road, you can take the AP-7 toll motorway, which runs parallel to the Mediterranean coast. If you are traveling from Barcelona, you can take the C-32 highway, which joins the AP-7 at the Mataró junction.
From France, the easiest route is to take the A9 motorway to the Spanish border at La Jonquera, where it becomes the AP-7.
by Bus
Traveling by bus is a convenient and affordable option to get to Costa Brava. The region has several bus companies that connect the major cities and towns of the area with other parts of Spain and neighboring countries.
One of the most popular companies is Sarfa, which operates daily routes from Barcelona to Costa Brava’s major towns such as Girona, Lloret de Mar, and Tossa de Mar. The bus also stops in other small towns along the way, making it easier for travelers to explore the region.
